It’s now possible to join me in the Yorkshire forest for private 1-2-1 photography tuition.

The days are tailored to your area of interest, whether that’s basic or advanced camera settings, use of light or working with dogs. Whatever you’d like to cover, the sessions are full of hints and tips to help improve your photography.

Whether you are a beginner, wanting to build a portfolio, photographing for fun, or thinking of a possible change of career, I’d love to help.

  • Private Half Day 1-2-1 lesson

    A morning workshop in woodland local to York. I’ll source and book a lovely dog model for our session. The content of the morning is tailored to your needs but can include camera settings for creative and action photography, finding beautiful light, composition, dog craft. Plus lots of tips and tricks to help improve your photography.

    To book your place, you can purchase a session through my shop, then email annie@thephodographer.co.uk to agree a date that suits us both.

    The fee for a half day is Β£200 for one person and Β£250 for two people.

  • Private Full Day 1-2-1 lesson

    A full day workshop in two different forest locations close to York. We’ll spend 6 hrs + together with a short break for lunch between locations for rest and questions. I’ll source and book 2 or 3 gorgeous dog models for our day of photography .

    The content of our day is tailored to your areas of interest and can include camera settings for creative and action photography, finding beautiful light, composition, sourcing great locations, dog craft. Plus lots of tips and tricks to help improve your photography. If desired a short cafe based theory lesson can be included to start the day before heading out to the woods.

    The fee for a full day is Β£375 for one person and Β£450 for two people.

  • Posing Pets and People

    For anyone needing help when humans get involved!

    A morning workshop in woodland local to York. I’ll source and book a lovely dog model and their person for our session.

    I know some photographers panic when asked to photograph people, so this session is all about how to create relaxed and natural dog and people pictures.

    The fee for a half day is Β£200 for one person and Β£250 for two people.

  • Private Half Day 1-2-1 lesson with your dog

    A morning workshop in woodland local to York.

    Your own dog will be the model for our session.

    The content of the morning is tailored to your specific areas of interest, whether that’s camera technique or creative process, and will include my tips and advice on how to photograph for your dogs size, unique personality and breed characteristics.

    The fee for a half day is Β£150 for one person and Β£200 for two people.

  • Let's notice... autumn

    A slow paced, mindful photography session.

    Let’s notice what is around us and photograph the shapes, colours and textures of the autumn woodland.

    This session is all about being present in the moment, narrowing our focus and really seeing.

    A smartphone or camera is fine and you will have my guidance on camera settings and tips for composition if you so wish.

    The fee for this 90 minute session is Β£75 and is limited to three participants.

Camera Basics

Do you have a great camera but unsure how to make it work for you? Join me for a two hour lesson in the great outdoors and learn the basics of photography. Learn how to use ISO, aperture, shutter speed and exposure compensation and get shooting in manual mode. Choose central York or forest location.
