Hi, I’m Annemarie
aka The Phodographer, and I make pictures of dogs for people whose dog is not just a dog, they’re a cherished member of their family. Even after a decade of this work I have to pinch myself that I get to do this!
They live such short but spectacular little lives don’t they, our dogs? What was once an everyday and ordinary moment in the blink of an eye can become the old days and what was once ordinary, extraordinary. My job is to catch some of that ordinary and everyday and sprinkle a little Phodographer magic over it for you.
What is that magic Annemarie I hear you ask!? It’s the way I see light and colour, my composition, and how I make my photographs look like paintings.
It’s the way I catch that tilty head expression, that unique sticky up bit of fur on the back of their neck or the way their eyes look when they see you. I want to catch it all so you can keep it forever.
Some folks come to me once for a one off piece of work, others bring their pets to me every year for special pictures throughout their lives. Often my shoots are booked to mark a moment in time - a new pack member, a special ‘gotcha’ day or maybe you’ve noticed a little more grey hair on that familiar muzzle. Whatever brings you to me, I’d love to be the one to make pictures that look like paintings for you.

Annemarie King aka The Phodographer is a career photographer of 25 years, with a love of people, animals and the natural world. She founded her photography business in 2001 and The Phodographer ten years later, with the mission to enable everyone to have a beautiful portrait of their pet.
As well as shooting commissions for private individuals, she produces creative commercial imagery and visual content for brands in the pet world.
Annemarie is a past Kennel Club Dog Photographer of the Year award recipient and BIPP Pet Photographer of the Year.
